Sand Creek Sports, Inc. welcomes the USA Cycling Development Foundation (USACDF) and Pikes Peak Traveland as sponsors of our Carmichael Training Systems Summer of Cycling.

2010 Carmichael Training Systems Summer of Cycling schedule is here.  These races include the Ascent Cycling Series May 22 in Palmer Park, two Wednesdays at Bear Creek Terrace in June and the final in Bear Creek Terrace on June 19.  Also, the Rocky Mountain Games with our Falcon 100 at the US Air Force Academy on Falcon Trail will be on August 1st.

The Pro Cycling ACA Colorado Senior Road Race Championships will be one of these events as well!  Held at the Air Force Academy on August 15, Sand Creek Sports returns, yes, returns to road racing!

The tentative Tour of Victor will be the final race in the very popular Rocky Mountain Ultra series on September 18th. The featured race will be about 50 miles.  Details and race confirmation in the Spring after we get up there after the snow melts!  We've got a real gold miner helping us with the course!

July 9-11 Race Information:

The July 9-11 Carmichael Training Systems International Classic will be a UCI C2 stage race!   A $10,000 cash prize list race with 655 UCI points each for Pro Men and Pro Women for the final USA Cycling Pro XCT race!   And, 47% of all US UCI points available for 2010 are at this race!

We will apply for the USA Cycling Race Permit, begin online registration with sportsbaseonline, and hopefully, have our new and easier to use web site up and running by mid-February.  Registration will be online only and will close July 7th.  Number pick up will be July 8 at Carmichael Training Systems.

This race will also be the final USA Cycling Pro XCT race, a 2012 Olympic Selection race, and the final 2010 National Championship Cross Country Qualification race.  The National Championships are July 15-18 in Granby, CO.  The Pro XCT series Men and Women winners get an automatic 2010 World Championship spot which will be announced at our race!  This race is also a USA Cycling National Mountain Bike Calendar event.

There will be a stage race for Category 1, 2, 3 and singlespeed riders as well over the three days. 

The venue is Cheyenne Mountain State Park just south of Colorado Springs.  Same basic S/F line for

all races. The S/F is in the middle of the Expo/Team Parking area on pavement. 

The tentative schedule is: July  8  Number pick up at Carmichael Training Systems Hwy 24 & 21st St

                                        July  9  Stage 1:  Encantadas Time Trial  (may use Medicine Wheel trail)

                                        July 10  Stage 2: Cross Country for everyone (same course as in 2009)

                                        July 11  Stage 3: Amateur Cross Country (different course than July 10

                                                                    but using the same S/F line.

                                                                  Pro Men and Pro Women Short Track Cross Country per

                                                                    UCI MTB Criterium rules.

Camping:  A limited number of group camping sites are still available at the race venue, Cheyenne  

                 Mountain State Park. Call the Park directly at 719-576-2016 to reserve.

                 There may still be some individual sites left at the Park.  Those must be reserved online only

                 by going to the Park web site here and then going to "Camping" on the left.
